THIS IS TO CERTIFY that, at the request of the applicant Messrs. LR-Shipdesign AG, Landis+Gyr-Str.1 CH- 6300 Zug, this society reviewed the documents relating to calm water model test which were reported between 8 December 2021 and 11 August 2022, and provides statement as below.
1. (Efficiency of Hull Optimization)
1.1 The Hamburg Ship Model Basin (HSVA) carried out calm water model tests to verify the reduction of a 76,000 DWT Bulk Carrier with an un-conventional aft body hull form without any Energy Saving Device (ESD) designed by LR-Shipdesign AG.

1.3 As the result in the submitted documents, the un-conventional aft body hull form w/o ESD reduces the power consumption by about 3.1% at the full scale ship speed of 13.0 kts.

2.1 In addition to the above, HSVA carried out calm water model tests to verify the reduction of a 76,000 DWT Bulk Carrier with an un-conventional aft body hull form with designed (new) Energy Saving Device (ESD) (Rudder and Propeller) designed by LR-Shipdesign AG.

2.2 As the result in the submitted documents, the un-conventional aft body hull form with new ESD reduces the power consumption by about 6.7 % at the full scale ship speed of 13.0 kts.

3. (Efficiency of reduced rpm)
The applicant further reported, according to the tank test, the main engine requires approx. 400 kW less power for the given speed of 13 kts (power prediction) and was found that the propeller needs about 3 rpm to produce the same thrust, thus may results about 3.1% at the full scale ship speed of 13.0 kts.
