LRSD Hull Design for a 15k TEU Container Vessel
For the first time, our partner LR-Shipdesign AG (Switzerland) [LRSD] applied their AFT OPT design to a 15,000 TEU container vessel model.
Earlier, validation of AFT OPT – the unique patented ship hull design to improve the hydrodynamic flow of water underneath of the keel – had been validated for various ship types and sizes. Result: always >5% fuel savings (see also our previous NEWS).
Latest developments in 2025 include the actual large container vessel design and a new LNG carrier layout with a 2-screw-system and AFT OPT.
